Vision
S-WIN is the Swiss network for innovative wood technologies for the decarbonization of society
Mission
We support the Swiss forest and timber industry in the development of products and processes for the decarbonization of society by initiating R&D projects and ensuring the transfer of knowledge and technology between business, society, research and education.
Goals
The goal of S-WIN is to mobilize economic forces of its own and to consistently exploit existing growth potential, thus strengthening the competitiveness of the Swiss forestry and timber industry.
Focus topics
S-WIN organises regular workshops and seminars for its members and the public. These thematically focus on 4 areas of expertise, which are called dialogue platforms:
DP1 – Wood Procurement
The dialogue platform ‘Wood Procurement’
deals with life cycle analyses and examines the
Swiss wood market with the long-term goal
of facilitating wood procurement.

NFP 66 Ressource
Holz
The National Research Programme NRP 66 "Resource Wood" was approved between 2012-2017 with a budget of CHF 18 million and aimed to increase the availability of wood as a resource and to optimise the sustainable use of wood as a raw material by developing innovative technologies and services.
NRP 73 Sustainable
Business
NRP 73 aims to develop scientific findings on a sustainable economy with careful use of natural resources, greater welfare and increased competitiveness of Switzerland as a business location.
