Impulses for research & development in the forestry and timber industry

The S-WIN innovation agenda provides impetus for research and development (R&D) along the entire value chain of forestry and wood. Based on current findings from S-WIN activities and research projects, innovative proposals for action are developed that offer clear guidance for future-oriented R&D activities and drive the transformation of the industry.

What is the S-WIN innovation agenda?

The S-WIN Innovation Agenda is a flexible and forward-looking foundation for innovation projects in the forestry and timber industry. It defines concrete measures in the areas of timber procurement, wood-based materials, timber construction, and products and energy from biomass. The goal is to create a dynamic innovation landscape and actively support the transformation of the sector.

Strategic goals and the Innovation Roadmap 2030

The strategic goals and measures of the S-WIN innovation agenda are based on the S-WIN Innovation Roadmap 2030. The measures in the innovation agenda are updated annually to reflect and further develop progress within the industry.

From vision to implementation

To implement these measures, S-WIN develops inspiring action proposals and concrete activities that can serve as a basis for your own project ideas. These proposals serve as a source of inspiration and a starting point for all those who want to actively shape the future of the forestry and timber industry.

The topic area "timber construction" is dedicated to the further development of timber construction through efficient adhesive connections, the increased use of hardwood, and improvements in safety and manufacturing.

Products and energy from biomass

The topic area "Products and energy from biomass" covers the extraction of high-quality raw materials for chemicals, bioplastics and environmentally friendly wood-based adhesives and composites, as well as technologies and processes for the efficient conversion of wood into heat, electricity or fuels.
