About the event

The S-WIN conference “From research to practice” takes place annually alternately at ETH Zurich and at the Bern University of Applied Sciences in Biel.

The goals of the conference are to present and discuss implementable findings and results from the research activities.

The conference focuses on structural timber construction. The focus is on new findings and fundamentals for the safe and economical design of wooden structures for normal and fire situations. The conference presents the main results of the research activities for practice, which are documented in an extensive conference proceedings. The conference is aimed primarily at civil engineers and timber construction companies.
