Cross-cutting themes

The interaction within the forest and wood value chain is shaped by overarching themes such as digital transformation, social and political requirements, as well as the valorization of ecosystem services and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

These overarching aspects play an important and often connecting role in all four subject areas.

Taking these overarching issues into account, the forest and wood value chain has great potential and can make a significant contribution to the decarbonization of the atmosphere.
